2eme Mort virtuelle. Je m'habitue!!

C'est la deuxième fois qu'on censure mon blog, je m'habitue, this is my second life :) Ceci nous donne une idée sur la façon avec laquelle notre gouvernement résout ses problèmes et le QI des preneurs de décisions!! Notez que dernièrement je ne fais que reprendre des infos publiées ailleurs, et que je consacre très peu de temps a ce blog depuis des mois.

Juste 6 mois après mon premier blog samsoum-usa , Ammar404 s'en est aprecu et n'a pas aime son contenu. D'ailleurs je ne sais pas s'il est accessible en ajoutant le "www". Ce blog a dure 18 mois, ce qui confirme la progression dans le domaine de la liberté d'expression en Tunisie, et confirme les propos de Sarkozy, Bush et Rice qui sont contents du progrès fait dans le domaine.

Je suis reconnaissant au plus beau des croyants fils de Ali pour ses décisions clairvoyantes menant a des avancées civilisationelles, et la preuve est qu'en un an, la liberté d'expression a progresse de 300%!!! Alors, vous les blogueurs non reconnaissants, arrêtez de nier les faits et ne joignez pas les rangs des perturbateurs qui ne cherchent qu'a détruire notre pays, ces nostalgiques de l'epoque coloniale qui travaillent pour le compte de pays étrangers qui sont jaloux de notre progrès :))))))

Bon, soyons sérieux. Cet acte de censure est une confirmation d'échec. Comment peut on tomber si bas? Si le blog d'une personne qui parle de ses états d'âmes, qui partage son amour de la vie, de la poésie, de l'amour pour la famille, pour sa profession ou pour son pays, comment peut il être nocif et dangereux a un système. C'est mesquin, car les poèmes de Nizar Kabbani, de Ahmed Matar, d'ouled Ahmed et autres, les vidéos, les articles que je reprend, sont accessibles par une recherche sur Google, et celui qui cherche trouve!

Quand j'ai commence a bloguer, je n'avais aucune idée ni plan pour ce blog. C'était l'entrepreneur tunisien vivant aux US, surmené et nostalgique qui voulait faire parite de cette communauté, et s'exprimer comme il n'a jamais eu le temps de le faire. Maintenant que j'y suis, j'y reste.


Vous savez ce qu'il faut faire, il faut tout juste ajouter "www" après le http://.

Censorship IS NOT the solution!!

After the successful action of 12/25 and thanks to all participating bloggers, I wanted to note that it must be very obvious now to the officials at whatever censorship or information control agency in this country that censorship is not the solution anymore. The same way satellite broadcasting did few years ago, the internet has won the censorship battle. Today with a blogging platform like Google, a blog address can be changed in 2 seconds and it takes as much to update an aggregator addresses or redirecting your feed through feedBurner or similar services. Technology work for everyone and even if a whole site like YouTube gets censored, mirrors and proxies get created to mitigate these actions.

I urge our decision makers to opt out of these stupid strategies and to accept the dialog with everyone. Bad ideas won’t survive a public and free debate. Extreme and fundamentals ideas and their supporters are partly justified and by government fear of debating them.

Oppression always gives birth to violence, where sometimes we end up in the worst case scenario. And we, the citizen of this country are taken as hostages, where we should be shaping this country the way WE WANT, not what the government wants, not what the opposition wants!!!!

Internet censorship.

Today, on my way to work, I was listening to the local news station. And I was surprised to hear them mention “Tunisia”. I think this is the first time in 12 years, I hear a piece of news mentioning my country, here in the Silicon Valley. The problem is I wish they did not. Why? Because it was not mentioned as an exotic vacation destination, or a producer of the best olive oil. But as one of the top countries to use "pervasive" filtering of political content on the internet.




Internet censorship around the world is becoming more pervasive and sophisticated, with government-directed content filtering documented in at least 25 countries, according to a comprehensive report to be released today.

Political, social and cultural content are the primary targets of censorship, along with applications such as Google Maps and the Internet phone program Skype, according to the OpenNet Initiative, a partnership of more than 50 researchers who conducted tests on Internet access in 41 countries.

The research, conducted in 2006 and early this year, identified six countries with "pervasive" filtering of political content: Burma, China, Iran, Syria, Tunisia and Vietnam.

Nine countries, including China, Pakistan and Vietnam, use technology to conceal their censorship, disguising it with techniques such as flashing network error messages.[..]

Vous Ne Contrôlerez Jamais Nos pensées!!! JAMAIS

Vous avez commencé par nous boucher les oreilles pour ne pas choisir ce qu’on écoute, ensuite vous nous avez coupé la langue pour ne pas dire ce qu’on veut, puis vous nous avez coupé les mains pour ne pas écrire ce qu’on désire, maintenant vous nous percez les yeux pour ne pas choisir ce qu’on regarde. !!

Vous devez vous rendre compte maintenant que cela ne marche pas !! Vous n’arriverez jamais à nous couper les ailes, car on ne les a pas sur le dos. Elles sont attachées à nos cerveaux, il ne reste plus qu’à nous lobotomiser pour que vous puissiez avoir la paix. Vous avez déjà commencé avec votre tv débile et journaux de caniveaux, mais vous n’arriverez jamais à contrôler nos pensées, jamais, jamais, jamais. C’est pas difficile a comprendre, non? mais vous ne comprendrez jamais.

Imprisonment of Tunisian Activist

The United States is disappointed to note that March 1, 2007, marks the two-year anniversary of the imprisonment of Tunisian activist lawyer Mohamed Abbou. Mr. Abbou was convicted in 2005 of defamation of the judicial process and assault after publishing articles on the internet critical of the Government of Tunisia. The legal processes involving his case were characterized as highly irregular by Tunisian non-governmental organizations and international observers. We urge the government to carry through on its declared intention to pursue democratic reform, including allowing greater freedom of expression and association and to release all those imprisoned for expression of free thought, including Mr. Abbou.


BEWARE: Criticizing the TN government on your blogs could get you to jail and even the government of the USA cannot get you out of it. That’s the message they keep sending to us.

I wonder what would happen if all of us decide to speak our mind on the same day on our blogs? And I know that we will all be saying things similar to what got Mr Abbou into jail since 03/2005. Will they ban our blogs? Possible, but what a bad press it would make. I imagine the title "More than 200 Tunisians blogs victim of censorship".

The question is: will they track us down and jail all of us??

PS: This press release source is Tunisia Watch RSF blog. When I tried to check it out on the US dept of state web site, I found that the title is still there, but if you click on it, it gives you a 404! How ironic isn’t it?
