TN freedom of the press: A right guaranteed :-)

TN prezident speech on the World Day of the Freedom of the Press

"Today we are proud to have widened and diversified spaces of expression, as well as guarantees and incentives granted to journalists" says TN Prezident Z.i.n.e B.e.n.A.l.i

In an address delivered on Wednesday on the occasion of the World Day of the Freedom of the Press, Prezident Z.i.n.e B.e.n.A.l.i said that Tunisia "considered freedom of the press as an essential component of Human Rights " adding that "we have granted to information and communication a particular importance based on our faith in the nobility of this mission, as well as the importance of its function."

Stressing the diversification of the Tunisian media landscape, the Head of State said that it has "enabled it to promote its contribution to the foundations of democracy, pluralism, dialogue and concord, as well as sustaining our development process."


H added that "Today we are proud to have widened and diversified spaces of expression, as well as guarantees and incentives granted to journalists so that they enrich the media landscape in an atmosphere of freedom, responsibility and respect of deontology; freedom of expression being a right guaranteed to all."

Prezident Z.i.n.e B.e.n.A.l.i also reiterated his call to all journalists to address "social, cultural, economic and political topics with the courage and seriousness required from them, within the framework of a journalistic work that is free, sincere and committed."

Evoking Tunisia's pioneering position in the concert of nations as testified by the objective, specialized reports of international instances, the Head of State addressed the owners of newspapers, as well as the journalists saying that it was incumbent upon them that "they raise Tunisia to the position it deserves in this global information and communication space which poses a challenge to cultural and national identities, a position that is in line with the high level of modernity and progress achieved by the country" concluded Prezident Z.i.n.e B.e.n.A.l.i.

Baleckchi wallena démocratie ou ma fibelnech ?
Ca peut arriver quoi ? En une nuit comme ça, d'un click, il décide que demain on sera dans une démocratie et qu'en conséquence il demande à ce qu'on lui prépare un discours adapté . La nuit suivante et ben il décide qu'une journée de démocratie c'est déjà pas mal pour commencer mais faut pas trop les habituer, donc une petite mesure de rappel à l'ordre se révèle être necessaire pour signaler qu'il est toujours le maître incontesté de nos vies et destinées. Et ainsi de suite jusqu'a ce que l'on soit complètement déroutés à ne plus savoir faire le distinguo entre l'une et l'autre des voies sélectionnées pour notre bien-être . On en a de la chance chez nous .

J'ai surtout apprécié le passage sur les rapports d'organismes internationax qui parlent de notre "pioneering position"
